Zoo yoga??

I've been sending my yoga pictures to the family group chat. Every time, my sisters would make fun of my poses by comparing them to animal pictures T_T Well, I take it as the way my family says they love me. 

Last night my sister sent me a compilation of the funny yoga pictures and called it "Zoo Yoga" as you can see below...

Canal Corridor 100 - First 100 Miler

As I'm writing this blog (3 days after the race), I still cannot believe that I ran 100 miles this past weekend. Everything was like a dream (a good one) and I am still processing what happened this weekend. After the first 50 miler (Double marathon at Run with Scissors), I was kinda of lost and was not sure what my next goal was going to be. I proved myself that I could run 50 miles (in a bad weather condition). What else should I do? As a typical goal-oriented, Type A person, I needed another goal to motivate me to run and be active. However, I did not "dare" to think about the 100 miler. The distance sounds too scary and I felt like it was only for seasoned ultramarathon runners or really strong people. Pattana sprint triathlon - hot and humid race (1st AG, 3rd Overall)

This year I had a chance to race a sprint triathlon in Thailand during my visit. I signed up for a race organized by the same company before COVID but it was canceled due to COVID. I saw that they had another sprint tri this summer during my visit to Thailand. So, I signed up for the race.  The problem was I did not want to ship my bike to Thailand with me (due to many logistic problems) so I borrowed a bike from my friend who is also training for an Ironman. I use her bike to train for the Ironman when I am in Bangkok.  The race was on Sunday (June 26) in Chonburi, which is about 1.5 hours from Bangkok. The course was actually in a golf resort owned by my college friend. So, we decided to go there a day early and stayed there on Saturday night. I did not want to wake up super early to drive to Chonburi on Sunday morning. We arrived in Chonburi about 5pm, checked in at the hotel, and went out to dinner at a restaurant by the sea. Post-triathlon week. The week of 50 miles run.

The post-triathlon week was supposed to be my "recovery week". Turned out that I ended up logging in 50 running miles, which was the highest mileage for me in a very long time. Monday - I went to a 75-minute yoga class because my muscles were very tight from the race and I needed to stretch them somehow. The class was cool because it was the eclipse day so the teacher made us do Moon salutation instead of a typical Surya Namaskar A & B (Sun salutation) like what we usually do in other flow classes. I really liked the flow that we did because it's not too "heavy" for my tired legs and arms. I also took a pic of my calf on Monday because it still had the tri number on. Body marking is one thing that makes me feel like a triathlete :) Took Tuesday off - completely off. Although the yoga class helped my body relax, I knew I had to have a day that I REALLY DO NOTHING.
